I retired July 7th 2023, and decided to keep myself busy by taking on something new. Ink was my choice, painting with it. I’ve drawn my whole life, but never painted. And I’d never dealt with ink. So, I decided to do a painting a day, of different animals that I found interesting. I did this with an eye toward featuring lesser known/foreign animals, sprinkling in more common ones along the way. Then I knew what I was going to do, but how long? I decided to go to my 70th birthday, August 3, 2027. A total of 1,488 days, I rounded up to a 1,500-piece series I call “The Shotgunner’s 1,500”.
