The primary subject of this exhibition is water in all its forms. Brian Poulton was brought up in England within the sound of the sea, so water has a strong emotional resonance for him. Now, here in Minnesota, it is the lakes that keep water in the forefront of his artwork. He started by just using photography but soon realized that it cannot always capture the lakeside atmosphere. He started to paint lakescapes and create collages in order to depict all the aspects of water that he found fascinating and beautiful.
This exhibit will be up on the Art Wall in the Community Program Room of the Ramsey County Library in Shoreview from December 16 - January 13. It is not available to the general public during room bookings which will vary by day.
This program is funded with money from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
