In December, staff finished moving and clearing out the Maplewood library collection and the new year started with the demolition inside of the building. Shelving was taken down and shortly after, the carpet, walls and ceiling were cleared out for construction. The new spaces will help resolve current issues affecting use, comfort and service for the Library such as acoustics, sightlines, collection area locations, location of lobby, security gates, and broader use of the main lobby.
During construction, limited Library services will remain at the Service Center-Maplewood, opens a new window located in the Maplewood Mall, opens a new window. Patrons can pick up holds, read newspapers and return library materials.
