Please join us in welcoming Ray Lockman to Ramsey County Library.
Ray brings over 13 years of academic and public library experience to Ramsey County, most notably as Service Manager of Community Engagement and Programming at the Minneapolis Central branch of Hennepin County Library.
During their tenure at Hennepin County Library, Ray served as co-chair of the county's Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Employee Resource Group and as the county representative on the City of Minneapolis Transgender Equity Council. They are currently a consultant, coach, and trainer and teach on the graduate and continuing education levels at University of Wisconsin-Madison’s iSchool, specializing in inclusive libraries and librarianship—a topic on which they also present statewide and nationally.
Outside of work, Ray is the proud parent of one young daughter and lives in Minneapolis.
